Following in the footsteps of the Notorious D.A.N. I'm going to have my say on Endless Nameless.
If the Wildhearts split is the death of rock n roll, then this album is your personal invitation to the wildest funeral reception in history. A trip to hell and back only with louder guitars and
subsonic bass. OK so they've distorted every single instrument to fuck, but the melodies still shine through. Honest! That's why I've been singing Nurse Maximum nonstop for the last 2 days. The melodic bridge in Sound Dog Babylon is as beautiful as it is surprising. And the heavy songs. These are the songs that Lovebank and Naievty Play should have been. Guns blazing, Arse ripping guitars, the entire room shaking. Cool. And as for ditching the old sound - This is the sound of the Wildhearts kicking the hangers on from the back of their bandwagon and blazing off into the sunset leaving the opposition eating dirt.
This album is a wonderfully fucked-up, beautifully twisted, legacy to the genius that was (or is) The WiLDHEARTS.

PS Try listening to Junkenstein or Urge through headphones. I did in Virgin - it sounds really cool, cos there's so much extra stuff going on in the background.
